World We Imagine Part 1

    After reading the quote from Jacqueline Novogratz, the first part that stood out to me was the last sentence. Specifically the beginning, in which she says, "We have only one world for all of us on earth." That immediately made me think of the problems affecting our planet and environment, so my first step towards making the world a better place would be to first help the planet we live on.

There are many different ways to help our planet at both the big and the small levels. The big ones are grand and seem veery important, such as switching the world's energy supply to non-fossil fuel sources, but we often struggle to find the next step to take to conquer that. The most important ones in my opinion, are the ones that start from the individual. They may not seem like the biggest difference, but as a collective, they can make a huge difference. Examples of these include recycling and composting at home, volunteering for cleanups, conserving water, and driving less. The effect of more and more people taking these small steps will actually return a lot more benefits to our environment.

    Hey Dante,

    Really appreciate your perspective on the sustainability issue. Seems like we've been hearing about how to conserve from a young age, but I'm not quite sure how effective the efforts have been and if I'm being honest, I don't know how many people that kind of education has even encouraged to switch their daily commute to/from school from driving to carpooling/biking or simple things like that. Maybe you could research the most promising green fuel sources, and also provide a list of the most impactful daily activities someone could do in reducing their environmental footprint. For example, does it benefit the planet more to save 2 minutes in the shower or to choose biking to work over driving? Things like that, just a thought!

Who You Are Matters

 Where I come from: I am from San Jose, California. It's called the, "Capital of Silicon Valley" and shows from all the tech companies that are headquartered there. Where I am going and how I will get there: I will be going into investment banking after my graduation. I already have the offer and finished an internship so as long as I pass the rest of my classes this semester, everything will work out.
