World We Imagine Part 3
The DC Foundation
Our mission is to inspire change in people to protect our planet, by focusing on the small things.
There are many different ways to help our planet at both the big and the small levels. The big ones are grand and seem very important, such as switching the world's energy supply to non-fossil fuel sources, but we often struggle to find the next step to take to conquer that. The most important ones are the ones that start from the individual. They may not seem like the biggest difference, but as a collective, they can make a huge difference. Examples of these include recycling and composting at home, volunteering for cleanups, conserving water, and driving less. The effect of more and more people taking these small steps will actually return a lot more benefits to our environment.
The DC foundation will focus on inspiring people to make these small changes in their lifestyle. As more and more people commit to these changes, the impact it will have on the environment will exponentially grow. We plan to start in the Los Angeles area and grow nationwide with chapters in most major cities. Most of the publicity will come from word of mouth, and we would like to recruit help from local colleges, universities, and high schools. We will also join the National Wildlife Federation, which helps support and provide resources to up and coming foundations like The DC Foundation.
Anima Mundi Development Partners should support The DC Foundation because we have an actual, plausible way to encourage change in our environment. By joining an already existing network of organizations similar to ours, we are able to tap into their networks of donors, supporters, and sponsors. The things we are asking are not huge or time consuming, and do not take up much of people's time. Once the awareness is spread about how big of an impact these small things can make, more and more people will be able to join the mission and be happy that they are actually making a difference without hav to change too much of their daily lives.
